YouTube has become the quintessential video platform, although we could also say it's the only one , for anyone who needs a video explanation of any task they have to perform, to enjoy their favorite trailers, to follow their favorite singers…
The folks at Google continue to add to and improve both the web service and the various apps available across all the ecosystems where it's offered. The latest feature the platform is testing on Android is autoplay video playback, which now plays without sound when you open the app.
These videos play without sound, but some users are noticing that subtitles are also displayed instead of audio . This allows them to tap on the video at any time if they find the content interesting, to start playing the sound. Currently, this feature is only available on the Android version; it's not available on the web version or the YouTube app for other platforms.
As we can see in the video above, as we scroll through the homepage, we can see that the videos that play automatically also display subtitles in the language of the video , a feature that makes perfect sense and that many of you will surely find incredibly useful.
As is often the case with these types of tests, we don't know if they'll eventually be released to the general public, but personally, I think it's an excellent idea, especially when you're bored and don't know what video to watch, as it allows you to quickly delve into the video's topic. To enjoy this feature, you don't need to update the app, as it's activated through the servers. We'll keep an eye out to see if this feature is finally launched.
