After much anticipation, Telegram has integrated video calling into version 7.0 of its app , but in this case, it's only available to try in the Beta version. The feature isn't yet available for download on the Play Store, but its release is imminent given the app's advanced development.
To install it, you need to download it to your device and enable the "Install unknown apps" option. This is necessary to be able to install and use it seconds later. Today we'll show you how to install the APK and make your first video call with the Telegram Beta app.
Keep in mind that the person receiving the video call must also have Beta version 7.0 installed ; otherwise, they won't be able to make the call. You can have the stable version of the app installed alongside the beta version, so they can coexist without affecting the one you already have installed on your Android phone.
Installation and commissioning
Once you run the application, you will receive the confirmation of the code in case you have an active session, either in the desktop version (Windows, Linux or Mac), as well as in the Android tablet, on iPad or iPhone, this time it will not reach you The SMS will send you a chat message to all the active sessions that you have open.
You'll need to enter your phone number ; they'll send you a six-digit code, which you'll use to activate the Telegram beta. In my case, SMS was another option, but the app attaches it to a message that it sends you as a rather large text message.
Telegram Beta 7.0 is in a fairly mature stage ; for video calls, it is advisable to use a stable connection, either Wi-Fi or be in a place with 4G-5G coverage to avoid losing signal strength.
