We're back with practical tutorials on Android flashing and updates , this time showing you how to update the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus to the official Samsung Android 7.0 via Odin from a personal computer with Windows installed.
In the video I've included at the beginning of this post, I show you the step-by-step process, in real time and without any cuts , that will allow us to update our Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, specifically the SM-G928F model or international model , to the latest official version of Android currently available for this device. This version has already arrived in Germany, France, and Austria, among other European countries, although it hasn't yet been released in Spain.
The only requirement to follow this tutorial for flashing or manually updating to the latest official Samsung firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus , model SM-G928F, is having the international model of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
Besides what's obvious and common sense just from the title of this post, we'll also need to have the Samsung drivers correctly installed on the PC , the Samsung device fully charged, and USB debugging enabled in the developer settings. This option will appear after clicking on "Build number" seven times in a row. The build number option is located in Android Settings, under "About device" and then "Software information."

How to update the Samsung Galaxy S6 to Official Android 7.0 manually and without raising the Knox flashing counter
The first thing we'll do after downloading the programs I've listed above is run Samfirm version 0.3.4 by opening it as system administrators by right-clicking. (See image above)
Once done, a window will open as shown in the screenshot above. In the Model field, enter the model of your Android device, in this case SM-G928F . In the Region section, enter XEF and select the options highlighted in the screenshot: Auto , Decrypt Automatically , and Binary nature. Then click the Check Update button.
In just a few seconds, you'll see the information shown in the screenshot above, indicating the availability of the latest official Samsung Android 7.0 firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus . Click "Download" and let the program download and decrypt the official firmware, making it fully functional and ready to use with Odin.
Once the official Android 7.0 firmware file for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has finished downloading, you will have a compressed file in ZIP format that you will need to download to any location or directory on your Windows system . (See screenshot above)
Now we will have a folder with four .tar files that we will use in Odin, although we will get the missing PIT file from the decompression of the CSC file as shown in these screenshots above these lines.
Now it's time to run the Odin flashing program as administrator :
When it opens, a window like the one shown below will be displayed:
Now we will click on the BL buttons to insert the firmware file that starts with BL , AP to insert the firmware file that starts with AP , and the same with CP and CSC :
Now click on the Options button on the left side of Odin and leave everything checked as shown in the screenshot below:
It is very important that these three options are checked: Auto Reboot, Re-Partition, and F. Reset Time . Then click on the PIT option and confirm in the window that appears by clicking OK to place the PIT file that we extracted from CSC in one of the previous steps:
We check that everything is as shown in the image above and proceed to completely turn off the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and restart it in Download mode using the combination of Volume Down plus Home and Power keys at the same time, then when the warning screen appears, we confirm the entry into Download mode with the volume up button.
We connect the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus to the computer running Odin, wait for Odin to recognize our Samsung , and once it shows the COM port in the upper left corner of Odin, we click the START button to begin flashing the official Android 7.0 firmware for our Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
It goes without saying that during the approximately five minutes that the flashing process of the new firmware lasts, we should neither disconnect the terminal nor, much less, let our computer enter sleep, hibernation, or anything like that, because otherwise we would brick the terminal.
You only need to disconnect the terminal when the Odin program displays the word PASS in the upper left corner, just above the word COM.

Finally, if you've followed all the steps I've explained here, you'll see this blue screen appear on your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which is just finishing its update to Samsung's official Android Nougat.
Finally, after the first restart and entering our Wi-Fi password, email address, and other initial settings, we were able to see this new Android Nougat 7.0 home screen.
