TikTok sale to Oracle stalls, Biden interferes

TikTok

According to The Wall Street Journal, TikTok sale to Oracle stalls, as Biden wants to review the policy for Chinese apps. It must be remembered that everything that happened with Huawei began with Trump's 4-year mandate, while he was out, everything could return to its jurisdiction.

We already know that the TikTok app in Chinese hands has been labeled as a national challenge for US interests for security, but it is true that it is not the only one who "collects" data.

And is that it all has to do with the digital walls that countries are building, how user data is a valuable asset and how technology could change in the near future.

TikTok

As far as we know, the US plan to sell TikTok's operations in the country would be sold to a group that would include Oracle Corp. and Walmart Inc., has been paralyzed indefinitely.

It's all because the President Biden wants to do a broad review of his predecessor's efforts to assess potential security risks from Chinese technology companies; and Among which could enter, of course, Huawei.

The TikTok agreement, which was pushed by then-President Donald Trump, has been fading since last fall due to successful legal challenges carried out by TikTok owner ByteDance Ltd of China.

Those talks and discussions, whatever you want to call them, have continued between the two parties to focus on ways to prevent the Chinese government from data that TikTok collects from American users. But at the moment there is no clear path on how to solve these problems until the Biden administration determines its responsibility.

So everything seems that everything returns to its momentary channel for that TikTok is not sold to Oracle at the moment. Now it's time to wait.
