The fingerprint sensor has become a favorite security system for many users since they've had access to smartphones with this hardware. This type of scanner is now a standard feature on any mobile device released for sale, and as a result, many services and apps are beginning to offer support for it to benefit from its convenience and ease of use.
While several banking services already offer fingerprint sensor support through their respective apps, PayPal was the last to do so. Today, they announced that the PayPal app for Android now supports this scanner on all phones running this operating system , whereas until now only Samsung devices could access their accounts using this sensor.
Starting today, any user with PayPal installed on their mobile device can log in with their Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor on Android. In version 6.5.1 of the app, a new fingerprint sensor option under the Login & Security section allows you to use the fingerprint stored on your phone to log in to your PayPal account.
This will eliminate the need to enter your username and password every time you log into the app, making the service much easier to use. Once you've enabled this option, all you have to do is use your fingerprint to log directly into PayPal.
Any device running Android Marshmallow or higher should be able to use your fingerprint to log in to the app, so if you're a user of this online banking service, you should update now. If you don't see the update in the Play Store, follow the link below to download the APK for version 6.5.1.
