OnePlus could enter the low range with a mobile of less than 200 euros

With the Nord , OnePlus has ushered in a new era, doing something it had never attempted before: entering the mid-range segment. Few predicted this move, as the company had focused solely on competing in the high-end segment since its inception.

Now it's rumored that the Chinese company intends to go even further , and to that end, it's reportedly working on a budget smartphone . This will surely delight many users who have long been captivated by the brand but haven't been able to afford one of its devices. Of course, this doesn't mean the company will neglect its high-end offerings.

OnePlus' low-end phone would be called Clover

AndroidCentral claims that the Chinese company could soon unveil a budget smartphone that, as expected, would come with low-level features and technical specifications.

The rumored phone is currently known as the OnePlus Clover and, according to reports, will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor and an HD+ display. It will be priced at around $200 USD, which is approximately €170 at the current exchange rate, and appears to be launching with a large 6.000 mAh battery, which may support 18W fast charging.

The screen, to be more specific, has been described by some sources as a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1.560 x 720 pixels. The memory configuration for the OnePlus Clover would be 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage , which could be expanded using a microSD card. Additionally, there would be a fingerprint scanner located on the back panel.

Its camera system would be triple and would have a 13 MP primary sensor and two 2 MP for portrait and macro mode photos. It would also have a 3.5 jack headphone jack.

It is not known if this device will actually hit the market, but it seems quite likely, given the turn the firm took with the Nord. Likewise, the expectations surrounding detail are high. We should get more information about this smartphone soon.

In the same way, based on what we already found in the aforementioned OnePlus Nord, and cutting out everything that this mobile offers, we can get a somewhat close idea or, in the best of cases, precise about what the Chinese manufacturer would be us preparing.

To begin with, the phone wouldn't have noticeably pronounced bezels or borders. It's now common to find budget phones with designs reminiscent of expensive mid-range or even high-end devices. Therefore, given OnePlus's reputation for launching attractive and trendy products, the Clover would likely look similar to the Nord, but perhaps without a hole-punch display, opting instead for a stylish waterdrop notch. If it does have a hole-punch display, it wouldn't be a dual one, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The device's large detailed battery would be the main reason why it would weigh no less than 190 grams. In turn, the final thickness of the phone would be more than 8 mm.

We don't expect water resistance certification on this model , as it would be detrimental if OnePlus wants to keep the price below €200. The OnePlus Nord and 8 also lack certification, but they do offer some degree of water resistance. However, this device wouldn't boast about that either, given that it will likely come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a port that would allow significant water ingress if submerged.
