OnePlus has released a new OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 2 that finally adds support to VoLTE (Voice over LTE), an important addition for any of the Jio users. The only downside of this update is that it still keeps the OnePlus 2 in what is Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
So OxygenOS 3.5.5 is being deployed to all OnePlus 2 users. Although, as in all these firmware updates, it will take time to reach everyone, at least what are a few days. The update also includes the December 1 security patch that comes from Google.
Not only does the change stay there, but others such as the app lock, so that you can give an extra layer of security to applications and files through the fingerprint sensor or a password, or what is a power saving mode, another for games and a couple of new options for the slider of alerts.
There are also some interface modifications, changes to the "Shelf" and a redesign of the volume bar. OnePlus also indicates that if you have never updated the default clock, calculator and message apps, they will be replaced by the stock OnePlus apps after the update. If you had updated them at some point, then you will keep them. As a possible solution to avoid losing them, it is recommended that you update them before installing the new firmware.
Finally, the company mentions some specific instructions for those users who suffer from problems with the fingerprint sensor, network or WiFi after the update.
