Pete Lau, CEO and founder of OnePlus, spoke in a recent interview about the new OnePlus 8 series , and while he didn't confirm the official name, he did provide several details. The two smartphones will cost slightly more because they will feature 5G connectivity.
This confirms that they will have a processor with an integrated fifth-generation modem, therefore it will use the familiar Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. This CPU adds the Snapdragon X55 modem, supporting the speeds offered by carriers that currently provide data packages at attractive prices.
It will not pass the barrier of 1.000 euros, at least that is what Pete Lau himself assures, therefore they will enter to compete with other brands that already have 5G devices. The OnePlus 7 Pro adds an indicative price tag of 700 euros, while the OnePlus 7 drops above 100 euros.
The cost of parts goes up
Besides the processor and modem, OnePlus, like other manufacturers, will also include antennas, so the price increases in either case. OnePlus is having good results by offering phones with great features at relatively affordable prices.

There will be three phones
The OnePlus 8 line includes a total of three devices ; so far, the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are known, although there will also be a Lite variant. The company wants there to be a model for every user, and these alternatives are certainly important in the mobile phone sector.
Launch of the OnePlus 8 line
The three new phones will be presented on April 14th at an event that the company will hold in a country yet to be confirmed in the coming weeks, where all the details and prices will be revealed.
