When Google introduced the Nexus 5, a terminal manufactured by LG, got spectacular reviews from the specialized press. While it is true that the Nexus 4 was already showing promise, its successor was the icing on the cake of the Nexus range.

A device that combined power with a value for money difficult to find at the time the Nexus 5 was presented. A dark time in which the market was dominated by brands like Samsung, offering their high ranges at astronomical prices. Well, most manufacturers continue to do so, but Google marked a before and after in the market with this incredible smartphone. And I'm afraid that today we have bad news to give you: Google stops production of the Nexus 5.

Google promises Nexus 5 units will be available until March 2015

It has been a Google spokesperson who, in an interview with TechRadar, reported that the production of the Nexus 5 has come to an end, warning buyers that they will not make this magnificent device again. Taking into account that currently only the white model is available, it is clear that soon the Nexus 6 phablet will be the only Nexus smartphone that we can buy.

Remember that the Nexus 5 integrates a 4.9 inch screen with IPS technology and Full HD resolution, reaching a rate of 445 pixels per inch. Gorilla Glass 3 is in charge of protecting this magnificent device against annoying scratches on its screen.

Under its hood we find a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.3GHz, boosted thanks to 2 GB of RAM and different internal memory configurations depending on the device you purchase, being available with 16/32 GB storage.

Google has stated to The Verge that "The Nexus 5 will continue to be available on Google Play during the first quarter of next year 2015", or until they run out of stock. What was said, The Nexus 5 is dead, long live the king. And, in my opinion, the Nexus 6 is not a worthy heir to this magnificent phone.

What do you think? ¿Do you really think the Nexus 6 is a worthy heir to the Nexus 5? Has Google done well by going back to its roots and offering a bigger screen?
