Motorola Moto G24: Our eyes on the entry range

Moto G24

We have in our hands today the new Motorola Moto G24, a device with which Motorola points directly to the competitors of the entry range, "low-cost" devices that live up to the expectations of the majority of common users.

Discover with us the new Motorola Moto G24, an affordable device that aims to compete directly with Xiaomi. We show you its virtues, its shortcomings, and above all those details that can make you decide to purchase it, or instead, end up discarding it. Are you going to miss it?

A very cute design

As is increasingly the case in these segments of mobile telephony, the device is accompanied by materials that, without being premium, clearly aim to make the user see, through noble techniques, the perception of being in front of a device of a higher range. Let's be honest, it is difficult to differentiate good methacrylate and good polycarbonate from metal and glass, at least when the device is kept in good physical condition. The passage of time is a different story.

We have analyzed the mint green version, which stands out for its completely flat front and asymmetrical edges at the top and bottom. On the back we find the double camera, Finally, without fanfare, without modules that add uninteresting cameras.

We finish with the very clean Motorola logo on the back. On the right bezel is the fingerprint reader, the volume buttons, a 3,5mm jack port at the top (surprising) and the USB-C port at the bottom.

In short, a pretty large device, with its 163,49 x 74,53 x 7,99 millimeters, while the total weight is 181 grams. We have to say that taking into account the materials used, it is not exactly light either, what is the reason for this weight?

Main hardware

Now we talk about the processor MediaTek Helio G85, which offers 225.154 points on Antutu V10, putting it in the top 40%. We must keep in mind that it is a well-known processor, it has two Cortex A75 cores at 2.0 GHz and six Cortex A55 cores at 1.8 GHz for the most common tasks. It is a 12 nanometer processor and 64-bit architecture, as the market indicates today.

Regarding graphic processing, we have a humble Mali G52 MC2 at 950 MHz that will get us out of trouble for the most common applications, but that will not shine in demanding games, far from it.

Moto G24

  • It runs a very clean and light version of Android 14, excellent work by Motorola in this regard.

All of this is wrapped in 8GB of RAM (we do not know the typology) and 128 GB storage memory (we also do not know the typology). This storage can be expanded via microSD up to 1TB in total. We also take into account that the card slot supports both the microSD and two nanoSIM cards at the same time.

In this sense we have a more than enough device, which is capable of offering us normal operation and performance in line with the price we pay. Motorola, true to its identity, continues to bet on this type of quality-price devices.

Multimedia and connectivity

We have a panel of 6,5 inch IPS type LCD, of great quality in its color adjustment, without aberrations on the edges, which is greatly appreciated. This panel has an aspect ratio of 20:9, while offering us a fairly fair HD+ resolution (720 x 1612 pixels), which offers a low density of 269 PPI, and that makes the seams stand out quite a bit in some situations when consuming multimedia content.

Not everything is going to be negative, We have a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and a maximum peak brightness of 500 cd/m2, which is more than enough for everyday use, without being noticeably bright.

The last mention in the multimedia content section goes to the stereo speaker, with Dolby Atmos certification. It sounds powerful, does not suffer from crickets at high volumes and covers the screen's shortcomings. It is a good speaker in a good package, a fairly notable point considering the price of the product.

Moto G24

As for connectivity, beyond the detail of the card slot mentioned above, we have connectivity LTE 4G, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC, with its USB-C port being OTG for content transfer.

Cameras and autonomy

Little to say about the cameras. The main 50 Mpx sensor It is ISOCELL type and offers f/1.8 aperture. It is accompanied by a 2 Mpx Wide Angle sensor of CMOS type and that offers an f/2.4 aperture, being in this case a rather testimonial sensor. As you can see in the sample photographs, we are looking at a sensor that performs fairly well in good lighting situations, although it suffers noticeably when the light goes out. The camera, without a doubt, is not the most attractive section of the device, although it more than delivers.

In addition, the camera has various functions:

  • 120 FPS slow motion recording
  • HDR
  • Digital stabilization
  • RAW
  • Scene modes

For its part, We have an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, enough for regular selfies. Without being Wide Angle, it captures a lot of content, although as always in these terminals, the "beauty mode" is quite pronounced.

Let's move on to autonomy, its wild 5.000 mAh more than meets daily tasks, although Motorola has been kind enough to specify that it has fast charging, this is only 15W, so charging in com

We are looking at a "low-cost" device, it costs only € 140 en Amazon, and this puts it on the podium in terms of its quality-price ratio if we compare it with the competition. Inexpensive devices are becoming fewer and fewer, and this has meant that quality has increased significantly, something that all users are undoubtedly grateful for.

Without a doubt, as long as we are very clear about what we have in our hands, that is, a device that advocates being economical and functional, we will be able to enjoy this Motorola Moto G24 without any type of complex, tell us what you think.
