This morning we learned that the free connection time in Meet is being reduced to one hour , and now we can announce an interesting new feature for the Google Meet experience: noise cancellation in the Android and iOS apps.
Google Meet has fallen quite far behind Zoom in terms of users, and although it is incorporating better new features, the latter did so well that when we were sent into lockdown it spread like wildfire across the planet.
And although it's true they've moved very quickly in recent months , they've arrived too late, so even when we talk about new features like noise cancellation, it still makes us a little hesitant to continue using Zoom; in fact, you can check out this tutorial to learn some of its intricacies.
The latest addition to Meet is noise cancellation , and it's sure to be available to everyone who uses this Google app, which looks like it's here to stay for many years, much like the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meet arrived on Android and iOS mobile devices after its desktop debut in April. It reached more countries in July, but only for desktop , leaving the rest of us somewhat without a feature that is frankly very interesting.
Google Meet can now "intelligently" filter out background noise on both Android and iOS, according to a post on the G Suite blog. In other words, this service will clean up the audio source, leaving your voice as the true focus.
In the same Google post, it's made clear that the update is starting to roll out so we can update Google Meet from the Play Store . So if you have this app installed, you can check it out to see if you can already take advantage of this audio experience.
