A few weeks ago, the government of India requested Apple and Google to remove 59 Chinese apps from their respective app stores. One of the most important and popular was TikTok. But it seems that the government of India want to continue eliminating applications of Chinese origin in their country and is exempting 275 new applications.
Some of the applications and games that are in this list are PUBG Mobile (a machine to make money around the world, developer by Tencent), AliExpress, ULike, Mi by Xiaomi, Clash of Clans ... The reason is the same as when TikTok was removed from the country: possible privacy and security footage for the country, the same motivations that the United States is arguing for removing TikTok in the United States.
According to the Indian media, Economic Times, the government is studying a list of 275 applications due to the national security risks that these applications may pose, since they may be collecting data from their users and for the Chinese government.
The government could ban all the applications that are part of this list to heal in health. But in addition, it is creating a new law that regulates applications of Chinese origin so that they are constantly monitored to verify what data they obtain and what they do with it.
The bans on Chinese applications came after the different clashes that took place on the border with China and that caused the death of several Indian soldiers. If they finally remove PUBG Mobile from the Chinese app store, it will be a huge blow to PUBG Corporation, as this is the main market for battle royale games.
According to Sensor Tower data, PUBG Mobile has been downloaded on more than 175 million devices in India, which is 24% of all downloads for this title, and although it would not be the end of this title, it would significantly reduce the audience that has this title, probably keeping its Fortnite market share, since Call of Duty: Mobile, also a developer by Tencent, could leave the country with PUBG Mobile.
