It seems like HTC has a new mid-range phone in development. The marketing name for this is unknown, but the phone's model number is '2Q741'.
The device was discovered on Geekbench yesterday and its reference result reveals some key specifications, which well tell us that we are facing a mid-range.
According to what can be seen in the image of the test that we place below, The HTC 2Q741 runs Android 9 Pie and has 6GB of RAM. Inside it has a MediaTek MT6765 processor, also known as Helio P35. This is the same chipset that powers the Xiaomi Mi Play and the Honor 8A Pro. The advantage that the HTC has over these two phones is its RAM capacity; It is double that of the Honor and 2 GB more than that of the Mi Play.

It's just a guess, but we have a feeling that This could be a follow-up to last year's HTC Desire 12 or Desire 12+. The former works with the 6739nm Mediatek MT28, while the Desire 12+ uses the 450nm Snapdragon 14. Switching to the 35nm Helio P12 to improve efficiency is not a bad decision.
Both devices mentioned were announced in March 2018 and became available for purchase in May of that year, so it is expected that this will arrive in the same period as a renewed and superior version. Nevertheless, the fact that the HTC 2Q741 has 6GB of RAM seems somewhat unusualas the chipset is entry-level / mid-range. Most phones in that category have a maximum of 4GB of RAM.
Soon we will be receiving more details about this mysterious mid-range, and thus inform about what the Taiwanese company has in store for us.
