Those who have switched to One UI on a Galaxy S9 or Note 9 have surely missed the Google Pixel camera and those wonderful HDR+ photos it takes. Fortunately, iDan, the developer who made the port possible for the Exynos version of the Galaxy S9, has released an update that allows the use of the Google Camera app (Gcam).
Even now, unlike this same version for the Galaxy S9 on Android 8.0 Oreo, you can use Google Camera's slow motion to record at 120 or 240 FPS. This app significantly improves the quality of photos you take with your Note 9 or S9, which is especially important these days when we need our cameras to perform at their best.
To take into account of this port
You're probably wondering if you can use Night Sight mode, which we discussed in detail recently, with this Gcam update for the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 on One UI. We have to say that it's not available yet, but Arnova, another reputable developer from XDA Developers , is working in conjunction with iDan, the creator of this version we're talking about today.
We'll likely see a port of the Google Pixel 3 camera app soon, which will include the new interface, Night Sight mode, Portrait mode, and that special HDR+ mode. We don't really know if the other features will be included, as they're currently focused on getting the front camera working so Portrait mode can be used.

How to have the Google Pixel camera
The requirements to use this port are as follows:
- One UI with Android Pie on a Galaxy S9 or Galaxy Note 9.

How to activate HDR mode:
- The first thing is to launch it after installing it.
- We go to the «Settings» from the panel side navigation.
- We back down and we close the application.
- We start it again and we will see that the improved HDR + mode of the Pixel is already active.
Configuring some little thing
Out of the box, it's already configured to practically let you start taking high-quality photos. However, you can activate the Galaxy S9's aperture setting to f/2.4 . This option is recommended, though not necessary, for achieving greater sharpness in well-lit or daytime photos. If you plan on taking photos in low light or at night, it's advisable to disable this option in the Gcam settings.
And so , Google's wonderful camera app is back in One UI , perfect for taking amazing photos with great dynamic range and a focus on contrast. Honestly, once you get used to it, you can't go back to anything else; you even end up relegating Samsung's camera app to other uses, like taking a quick photo with a double press of the power button.
Now we just need to be a little patient to be able to have portrait mode on the front camera , just like what happened with the Galaxy S8, that Night Sight mode and the HDR+ mode also active for selfies, since in conjunction with portrait mode, you can take simply spectacular or top-notch selfies.
