How to flash the Samsung Galaxy tab 7 ″ with the Overcome method

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 "model p-1000

First of all, say that I do this tutorial because of the problems that some users have had when flashing a stock Gingerbread firmware and root it, so I have decided to teach you the method Overcome.

Generally this method is the same as above that I present to you, the only thing is that here we will flash the Overcome Kernel. ATTENTION This method is only valid for the GSM model tabs.

When we finish the process, we will have the Samsung Galaxy tab 7 ″ or model p-1000, with Android Gingerbread 2.3.3, rooted and the Clockworkmod Recovery installed, from which we can install modified roms for our terminal.

Necessary requirements

Having an Samsung Galaxy tab 7 ″ p1000 model with fully charged battery y usb debugging enabled from the settings menu.

Likewise we must check that we have correct access to Download and Recovey modeTo verify this, we will turn off the device and perform the following button combinations:

  • Recovery mode: Volume up plus Power button, until the letters of Galaxy Tab, then we will release them and a screen like the following should appear: (to exit we select the Reboot system option)

Recovery mode

  • Download mode: Volume down plus Power without releasing them until a screen like the following appears:(to exit we will press and hold the Power button until it turns off and turns on again)

Download mode

It is very important to have at least 3GB of internal storage space Of the device.

Installation method

The first thing we will do is download the necessary files to carry out the action, so we will download the clean Gingerbread firmware and the modified Overcome Kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery.

Once downloaded, we will unzip them anywhere on the desktop,(preferably in a new folder), we will open the folder GB-Stock-Safe-v5 and we will execute the file SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_x86, to install the necessary drivers.

Once the drivers, we will restart the PC and we will continue with the next step.

Now we will execute the odin 1.7.exe which is inside the folder odin3_v1.7.

We will click on the button PIT and we will select the file gt-p1000_mr.pit Folder GB-Stock-Safe-v5.

We will click on the button PDA and we will select the file GB_Stock_Safe_v5.tar.from the same folder.

Now it is vitally important to check that the Re-Partition box is checked and we can cconnect the tab in Download mode and click on the Start button.

Odin Galaxy Tab with re-partition

Now, once the Samsung Galaxy tab 7 ″, we will enter the settings menu and we will activate again usb debugging, we will turn it off again and open the odin 1.7.

Now we will just select the box PDA and we will look for the file Overcome_Kernel_v4.0.0.tar, we will check that the box Re-Partition is not checked, I REPEAT, Re-Partition must not be checked.

We will turn on the tab en Download mode again and click on the button Start.

Odin Kernel Overcome

With this we will have correctly flashed the Samsung Galaxy tab 7 ″ or p-1000 to version 2.3.3, rooted and with ClockworkMod Recovery active.

Do not be scared if the tab when restarting takes a little longer than it should and starts chattering, since the Kernel is doing the conversion of the files.

Now we will only have root with SuperOne click.
