Messenger is Facebook's companion app for chats, video calls, and more. This works in conjunction with the second, but at the same time it is totally independent. One of its functions is to show when we are online, at the same time in which it shows us when our contacts are.
We recently taught you to how to be on Facebook without anyone knowing. Now we explain, through this new practical and simple tutorial, how to disable active status in Messenger, which will allow us to use the application without showing our contacts on the social network that we are using it.
So you can use Facebook Messenger without showing "online"
To be on Facebook Messenger without anyone from your contacts and friends knowing, the first thing we have to do is open the app. Then we carry out the following steps that we describe below:
- Once we are in the initial interface of Facebook Messenger, we go to the upper left corner of the screen and click on our profile photo.
- Subsequently, we seek the input of Active state, which can be found in the section on Profile, in the third box, and click there. This is enabled by default.
- We press on Show when you are active and a confirmation message will appear, which we will give in Deactivate. Once this is done, we can use the instant messaging application without showing "online".
It is worth noting that if you deactivate the active status, we will not be able to know when our contacts are online either.
