Google Maps has a huge variety of utilities, among which is the possibility of add a shortcut to any route we do daily. That is, if you usually use Maps to go to work or college, you can create a shortcut on the desktop to launch it directly.
This option comes in handy to put the icon next to Google Maps on desktop and search is activated and all those nuances of our route. If we combine it with the new update that even allows mixed trips and knowing the location of the bus or train in real time, all the better.
How to add direct access to any route we do daily in Maps
Before going on to comment on all the steps, we remind you that you have the two routes selected by default in Google Maps, such as work or home, from a long press from the icon located on the desktop. You simply have to drag one of them to have direct access to work or home.
But we are going to comment on how to do the same, but with any route. Imagine that you go to language school twice a week. In this case, it is helpful to put the icon with the shortcut to save time.
- The first is start Google Maps.
- In this case we will go to Official school of Languages.

- We put the name of the site in the search engine and it will appear in the search. We give in any of the results and the site will open.
- Click on «How to get there».

- We check well that in this case public transport is selected. We can also do it for any type of transport.
- Click on the icon with the three vertical dots and select «Add route to the home screen».
- We give to "Add" in the pop-up window and we already have direct access.
