Although this feature has been available for tablets, in the new version Android 5.0 Lollipop can already be used for create multiple user accounts on phones. A functionality that will allow you to create guest accounts, accounts with some special characteristics or have several principals for different reasons or needs.
Google this time allows easy to manage user accounts from the phone itself and it is carried out in several simple steps that I am going to list below with a screenshot or another so that the tutorial is more enjoyable and simple. A functionality that we were waiting for it to reach the phones and that from one of the Nexus it can already be used.
Creating and managing user accounts
- To access quickly it can be done from what is the notification menu from the main screen from the phone or from the lock screen itself.
- We will see the blue icon in the upper right which we must press to access the user administration, which will be exactly the following that we will see below.
- From this new settings screen we will see the users already created as will be the main account and the possibility of adding a guest or adding a user. When adding a guest we will go directly to the guest user account from which we can exit again by going to the user administration from which we can delete it or access the main account.
- Returning to the main user administration screen, we now agree to add a user. After initial setup (it will take a few minutes), the new user will have their own home screen and different settings than the main account.
- Now new users can be added or changed between existing ones from the same administration screen with the icon in the upper right.
More options
From this same screen users can be removed from the «more settings» icon where the list of them will be seen. Each user has an icon on their right that, when pressed, will access a menu that has the option of deleting this user account (this icon will only appear on phones, the delete icon on tablets). Only the primary account will be able to access these settings for deleting other accounts. Another of the qualities of a user account is the permission to allow phone calls and SMS and that can be activated from the previous menu.
An administration of user accounts that allows to manage them easily and provides the user to be able to have several accounts from the same phone or tablet. Without any doubt something a priority today to control different accounts and everything that each one of Facebook, Twitter and others entails.
