Anyone with a Google account simply has enough personal information and sensitive to protect. So a system that ensures more security will always come in handy, apart from the fact that we have our own website to simply control, protect and keep safe the account that just turned one year old very recently.
Google today announced a new two-step verification method which you called "Google prompt". With this, you can simply unlock your smartphone to verify your identity when you log into your Google account. Google announced the feature for Google Apps users today, but even personal accounts can turn it on.
To activate this new method called Google prompt, we go to the page My account on google then select "Login & security"Search by scrolling to the "Google Login" section and select "Two-Step Verification" on the "Password and Login Method" card.
You can then choose to add a phone for the Google prompt tool. A data connection is required To use Google prompt and Android users will need the latest Google Play Services update to use the feature. IOS users will need to have the Google Search app installed on their device.
The moment you activate it, you will receive a notification on your phone when you try to log into your Google account. When the alert appears, you can unlock your phone and press "Yes" if you are logging in or "No" if you are not trying.
This is not Google's only two-step verification feature, since the company also offers text and voice messages to verify your login, and there is even an app dedicated to it, Google Authenticator. The only thing that Google prompt is the easiest method to secure your account, because you receive an instant notification instead of having to wait for a text or voice message.
The update will come through Google Play Services to the next 3 days.
