The Galaxy S9 and S9 + support microSD cards up to 400GB

Yesterday the new flagship of the Korean company Samsung was officially presented at the MWC: Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, of which in Androidsis we gave due account. As we have been able to verify the design is practically the same, there being only a few small differences in design and weight with respect to its predecessor.

What has changed, in addition to its interior, is the camera, being one of the main improvements it has received compared to its predecessor and that centered a good part of yesterday's official presentation. Another novelty is found in the storage space, since the company will not only launch a 64 GB model but will also launch two more versions of 128 and 256 GB.

The previous model, both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 + allowed us to expand the storage space up to 256 GB using microSD cards. But the new generation of Samsung's flagship, in addition to offering new storage spaces, has expanded the compatibility of supported microSD cards, so that with this new generation we will be able to make use of micro SD cards of up to 400 GB in order to expand the storage space.

Most of the mid-range and high-end phones that were launched last year, arrived with 64 GB of storage, storage that we can expand using microSD cards, with the maximum capacity being 256 GB. Today, the space needed for day-to-day life for a normal user with about 64 GB, thanks to the different cloud storage services, services that allow us to always have all our information in a safe place through the internet as well as being able to consult whenever necessary without having to be physically on our devices.

The price of a 256 GB Samsung microSD card exceeds 100 euros, because without knowing at the moment what is the difference in price between the 128 and 256 GB models, it may be a very good option to consider instead of buying a higher capacity model.
