Galaxy Buds + are still easy to repair

Current technology is geared towards minimize device size, although this means that the glue is a very important part inside the devices and seriously affects their repairability. The guys at iFixit, known for analyzing and scoring the repairability of smartphones that hit the market, have just analyzed the Galaxy Buds +.

Samsung launched the first generation of the Galaxy Buds last year, a wireless headset that Consumer Report says became the best value for money of 2019, plus getting a 6 from iFixit. With the second generation, the guys from Samsung, have maintained the design and have managed to exceed last year's score, obtaining a 7 mark.

The Buds + offer IPX2 certification, which is an important advantage in terms of repairability, since no need to use glue in large quantities. Thanks to this certification, the glue is practically non-existent, which allows the different components to be disassembled without breaking on the way.

The internal structure of the Bus + is very similar to the first generation, but unlike this one, it takes advantage of practically all the available space. This generation integrates a 0,315Wh battery and is manufactured by EVE instead of Varta, and is located next to the main circuit located in one half of the headset. In the other half, we find the charging contacts, the microphone and a proximity sensor among others.

The Galaxy Buds + charging case, has not undergone major changes inside unlike headphones. The case maintains the same design, includes the same battery, a 1,03 Wh battery located next to the wireless charging coil.

All the AirPods models that Apple has launched on the market have obtained a score of 0 out of 10 in repairability, to give us an idea of the great work that Samsung has done.
