From time to time, Mark Zuckerberg's company updates its services. We recently told you about the new floating bubble experiencenow Facebook Messenger receives new functionality. Or rather not.
And, on the one hand, it has finally enabled the export of photos and videos from Facebook to Dropbox. It was already compatible with Google Photos, and it only needed to reach this other cloud. But, the most interesting thing has to do with the message forwarding via Facebook Messenger, which will now be much more limited.
You can only forward each message to five people or groups at the same time
We are talking about a measure that WhatsApp already adopted almost two years ago, when the instant messaging service began to veto the forwarding of mass messages to avoid spam. And it seems that the next step has been to add this limitation to the Facebook chat. According to the company, the idea is to make Facebook Messenger more secure and private. For this reason, they first added fingerprint or Face ID protection, and now it's the turn of this limitation.
We are not talking about a rumor or leak, but it has been the company itself who has announced this new functionality through its official blog, with the aim of "stopping the spread of viral misinformation and harmful content." The main objective is to eliminate the different hoaxes related to the COVID-19 pandemic that are circulating on the social network.
Regarding the availability of this new limitation when forwarding messages using Facebook Messenger, the company is rolling out the update in a phased manner. So over the next few weeks it will surely end up reaching all devices. And you, do you agree with this measure that Facebook has taken to prevent hoaxes from continuing to circulate on its social network?
