In recent years we have been getting used to to participate in all kinds of betas to be able to access those new features that long teeth give us. Until Google has improved Google Play, we had to participate in the Google+ community of the app, access the link to become a tester and thus proceed to download the application. A format that is still valid but has been greatly improved since the last version of the Google Play Store.
Being part of the betas, it may happen that a specific app we want to work fully at all times, since, by helping in the development phase, it may happen that this version comes with some errors, so you may need exit the beta program to access a final version that is clean of bugs. Next, we show you the steps to take to exit the beta of any application in which you are as a tester from the Google Play beta program.
What is an application in beta state?
Many companies and developers launch an application, which through it give users a good number of functions for their use. Before launching the so-called final version, there are the well-known beta testers, which are a closed number of people who test a tool for a limited time.
To have access you need to have the Play Store, being able to enter in two ways, one from the mobile phone, the other is viable from the browser of any device. We will have to click on the "Access" button and wait to be accepted, in some cases there is a waiting queue, which is normal.
After having the step, you will now have the option to download the application (APK) on your mobile device, despite receiving another name now, is an installer. You should be able to install it and be able to start seeing the complete utility, there are also many apps that have their phase known as beta and not "Alpha", the latter is a state of initial development. Both can coexist, although the first is preferred by many since it usually has stability.
How to exit the beta program of an application on Google Play
Today the Google Play Store has been updated with this option to exit the beta that we will explain in detail:
- The first is install version 6.8 from the Play Store from this link
- We install the APK and possibly that we have the «Beta» tab from «My applications»
- It is important that this tab is available, because if I do not recommend that you do not continue with the tutorial and wait for it to be updated from the server side (updates that Google launches without the need to update the application from the Google Play Store)
- If you have the tab active, click on it and you look for the app. In this case I will use Maps
- In Maps we scroll down until we find the option in a card called "You are a beta tester"
- Click on the «Exit» button with which we will no longer be part of the beta
- After this you will no longer have access to the application in its development and you will not see the changes, which is what it is done for
The beta applications usually come in handy, in the case of WhatsApp you will see some features that are yet to come, that at the end of the day is valid for us. The development of some apps always starts from a base, that's why you are testing an app with which you become familiar and see the final stage.
Exit all beta versions from the Play Store
One of the great features of the Play Store is that if you need to quit all betas It is possible, always following a few steps with which you will achieve it without having to go one by one. In our case you always have to have the account linked, being your phone and no other, since it usually comes with an email account.
The march of all of them will be done completely, leaving one by one is worth it to do without an application on your phone, one of the apps that reigns now is Telegram with its beta program. There are many functions of the tool created by the Durov brothers back in 2013.
To leave the Play Store betas, you will need to do the following on your device:
- The first thing is to go to the Play Store, you have to be identified with your email and password, you will see it once you open it on your phone
- Once inside, go to your profile on the left side and click on "Settings"
- Several options will appear, any of them is valid, specifically the following: "Exit beta programs", with this you will exit completely, once you click you will not be in any of them, you can also use other options such as unsubscribing from upcoming events, deleting from the wish list or giving de-registration of games and applications, the last one is good for you to remove yourself from one and the other quickly
You can drop all betas in one fell swoop, so if you do this you can uninstall the different applications, since you will not have access to them after doing this. You can select one by one and wait for the process to be completed, you can always write them down in case you want to come back.
Leave the beta program from the website
A formula that has also been working apart from entering the application is the web service of the Play Store, which is available to everyone. It will be necessary to log in first, then the process will be the same as the first, having to go to the specific app and click on "Quit" or "Exit", then it will take effect immediately.
You can enter the profile of the beta application, see if you are already a beta tester or not, and leave each one that you have access to as a user. On the other hand, it is essential to have the list pointed out.
