The Google Photos service stores many images and videos from when you start using it for the first time until you stop using it due to a change for another terminal. Photos deletes that image or video clip 60 days after sending it to the trash, but you can also do it manually.
By emptying the Google Photos trash you can recover enough space which reaches around 1,5 GB, this will have to be done because the service will be limited on June 1, 2021. The best thing is that you make a backup copy of all your data, we will show you how to do it step by step here.
How to empty the Google Photos trash
The trash can stores many files, if you are deleting various photos and videos you have to wait about two months for Google itself to delete all those files. They are files that if you have deleted they will not serve you, whether they are poorly made photos, videos sent, among other things.
Once you get to delete all those files, they cannot be recovered, there are formulas for it, but the best thing is that you are sure of it. Google Photos stores all images and videos in an unlimited way, but this will change from the first day of June this year.
To empty the Google Photos trash you have to do the following on your device:
- Open the Google Photos application on your Android device
- Check that you are in your Gmail account, if you are not with it, start with your email and password
- Now go to the bottom and look for the option «Library», select now «Trash», click on "More" and go to "Empty trash"
- Confirm with "Delete" the action that you are going to take to save the megabytes or gigabytes that you have eliminated to date, which may vary depending on the device
You can save a lot of space with it without having to wait 60 calendar days after it is deleted by the service, the logical thing is that it would be deleted in about 30 days. Google Photos is one of the apps that become basic with the Android operating system on many of the phones.
