Doogee Y6, the smartphone of selfies

As we've already mentioned, the Y6's front camera is specifically designed for selfies. Not only does it offer above-average quality thanks to its 8 MP sensor with LED flash, but its 88-degree field of view allows you to take group selfies , ensuring none of your friends are left out. The rear camera is 13 megapixels with a dual LED flash and performs its function perfectly well, without being particularly impressive, it must be said.

Piano Black, a striking glossy black

The main feature of the Piano Black edition is its glossy black color , which looks truly luxurious, as we can see in the video above provided by Doogee. This finish is achieved through an elaborate nine-step anodizing and polishing process on 7000 series aluminum. The polishing creates that beautiful mirror effect, while the anodizing process protects the device from corrosion. As we mentioned, it's a truly attractive and elegant color, but it does have one drawback: it's prone to fingerprints, which can slightly detract from the final finish.

Besides the color, the limited edition Piano Black also differs in that it has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM, while the standard models only come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, which makes a significant difference in performance. The final difference is the price: while the Piano Black costs €130 , the standard model can be had for just €105.

Most important features of the Doogee Y6

The Doogee Y6 features a 5,5-inch screen with 2.5D glass and HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels , manufactured by Sharp and seamlessly integrated with the aluminum frame. Powered by a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor , and with 4GB of RAM, the Y6 delivers solid performance, more than enough to handle almost any of today's most demanding games.

The fingerprint reader is located on the back of the phone, just below the camera, and can be configured to launch applications , so that depending on which fingerprint it detects, a different app will open. Inside, there's a 3.200 mAh battery , sufficient for normal use of the Y6, but it might fall a little short for demanding users. The operating system is Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with some minor modifications from the manufacturer, though much less extensive than on other brands like Bluboo. It comes with quite a few pre-installed apps, but some of them, like WPS Office, can be easily uninstalled to free up space if you don't want to use them.

In terms of connectivity, the Doogee Y6 is well-equipped with WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, and 4G LTE Cat.6. It also features dual-SIM support and FM radio.
