After passing the testing phase by invitation to developers and curious people, we now have here the first fully functional version, although in a state beta still from the program for Windows, CyanogenMod Installer.
CyanogenMod installer is a program for Windows Vista / 7 and 8 which is a fully automated wizard to be able to install the Roms de CyanogenMod on a bunch of supported terminals.
Do I have to have the terminal previously Rooted?
The answer is no. We will not need to have a previously Rooted terminal nor with him bootloader unlocked, and is that if you have one of the compatible terminals of the list that next we show you the program CyanogenMod Installer it will carry out the whole process automatically.
Do I lose all my apps and data?
Here the answer is SI, that is why it is advisable to make a backup copy of all your data and applications with tools such as Titanium Backup o Coal.
Is the process dangerous?
The answer is SI, although if we do things properly and following the step by step instructions nothing should happen.
Although to be realistic and not fool anyone, the process of flashing a Rom It is a process in which we touch and alter system files, this of course carries its risk, although as I said, if we take certain precautions, nothing strange should happen to us.
Do I lose the official warranty on my device?
Here I must give you a SI resounding, and it is that at alter the system from our terminal we will lose all the coverage offered by the official product warranty.
In many cases and with knowledge it is possible return to original factory condition, although it is not a simple process since it requires some experience, knowledge and depending a lot on the type of terminal since, as I say, in many cases we will not be able to eliminate the trace of the manipulation to which our device has been subjected.
What do we need to use CyanogenMod Installer?
We need the official application for Android which we can download directly from the Play Store:
We will also need the Windows program which we can download from this same link.
As I have commented a little above, the program at the moment is only compatible with Windos Vista 7/8, although we know that they are working on a version for MAC.
Requirements to meet before flashing a rom
These requirements are mandatory if you don't want to be upset during the flashing process of your CyanogenMod rom:
- Fully charged battery
- Drivers correctly installed on your PC
- USB debugging enabled.
- Compatible data cable preferably high speed.
- Under no circumstances intervene in the process to stop flashing, do not interrupt it at all.
- Avoid disconnecting the USB until everything is over and it gives us the OK.
- Disable antivirus.
- Deactivate sleep mode, Hibarnación and of course do not turn off the computer during the process.
- Prevent Windows from restarting to install automatic updates.
