Choose how many columns of applications you want to have on Huawei

EMUI 10

All Android layers by default allows you to customize the columns of applications that you want to have on your mobile device, also happens in Huawei EMUI. The normal thing in the company's smartphones is to use the 4 x 6, but we also have other interesting alternatives available.

This will work on both Huawei and Honor phones, two of the terminals that use UI EMUI and how well it is working, with or without Google services. In this case we have used a Huawei P40 Pro to perform the task, one of the models with the most hardware on the market.

How to change application columns in EMUI

Emui grids

Having the 4 × 6 means that you will have four columns and six rows for the icons, the classic of all life happens to have the 5 × 6 or choose another alternative, the 5 × 5. Any of them adapts to your phone and it is best to try any of them to see how it works for you.

To change the application columns in EMUI it is easy, but you have to find a configuration among the options that are quite varied. As in others, once you get to choose and accept, it will be readjusted to the chosen format, whether it is 5 × 5 or 5 × 6.

If you want to choose between the different columns of apps you have to do the following:

  • Access the Settings of your Huawei / Honor phone
  • Click Home Screen & Wallpaper
  • Within this option click on Main Screen Settings
  • Click on Design
  • Now you have to choose the usual 4 × 6 (it comes by default), 5 × 5 or 5 × 6

The recommended one is the usual one, the one that comes by default, but you can have fewer rows of icons, all so that it becomes a little more orderly and visible. EMUI will let us sort application by application if we want it and always keep the most used ones on top, be it Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook or others.

Some phones usually use the 5 × 5, the EMUI layer with the passage of time has seen how the experience with the 4 × 6 it is much better than with the other standard, all under user opinions. The decision is made by the person and it is the user who has the power to decide which one is best for him.
