Android 12: launch date and phones that will have it

Android 12

It seems the official date for Google's new Android release, Android 12, has been announced . The internet giant has its sights set on October 4th . And many are already wondering which smartphones will have it available. Which devices will get Android 12?

As a general rule, the new version of the mobile operating system that Google is releasing year after year is implemented in devices that have been released previously. Of course, it will be different depending on the range:

  • In mobiles of mid or low range, devices that will have the new OS (operating system) usually have up to 2 years old
  • In mobiles of high or premium range, the period grows to reach smartphones of 3 and 4 years with which to be able to have each new version of Android that comes out on the market

Taking this into account, Android 12 will be integrated, in principle, in the mid-range or low-end smartphones of the end of 2019 and 2020; while in the high-end or premium ones, it will be those that went on the market in 2017/18. And which are they?

It's true that this is always up to each mobile carrier, but some names are already circulating. As expected, Google has confirmed that the models compatible with Android 12 will be those newer than the Pixel 3 , including the Google Pixel 3, 3XL, 4, 4XL, 4a, 4a (5G), and 5.

At Samsung, high-end smartphones like the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S21 are rumored to be receiving the Android 12 update. Among OPPO , the Find 3 seems to be one of the most likely to receive Android 12, both the base and Pro models. Meanwhile, at OnePlus, the OnePlus Nord is a strong contender.

The Chinese firm Xiaomi also has phones that will eventually incorporate Android 12, including the Xiaomi Mi 11 and some Redmi 9 models.

Now it only remains to know if you have any of the devices on the list compatible with Android 12 version; And in case that is not the case, you have two options: continue with the version of Android that you have right now installed on your device or buy a new terminal adapted to it.

In the end, a new smartphone is always exciting not only for the fact of changing it, but also for the possibility of having more space to store, more tools to use and, of course, the battery will last us much longer.

All these aspects are great until we start thinking about transferring all the data from one phone to another . However, this is much easier than it seems. You just need to know what type of device you have, that is, whether it's a smartphone or a regular phone. Depending on this, the process will be different. And from there, all that's left is to enjoy your new phone.
