We return with review of a rugged smartphone by Androidsis, and again with a product from the AGM firm. We have been able to test for a few days the AGM Glory G1S and we tell you about everything that this authentic all-terrain smartphone is capable of.
Comes a difficult times for electronic devices for the high temperatures and how close to water that we usually are in summer. That is why AGM gives us options again with this device so that we do not have to suffer because our mobile gets wet or damaged. we can have everything we need from a smartphone, but without fearing at any time for its integrity.
A smartphone to not worry and much more
When we opt for a rugged smartphone, the main idea is not to have to worry about the phone being hit or damaged by water and dust. But given the evolution and development of devices in this sector, we find phones that combine a high level of resistance with features on a par with any other smartphone.
Military grade protection, IP certifications and materials anti-shock they are no longer sufficient for an increasingly demanding public. Why settle for just the phone being rugged? We want it to be shock and water resistant, but we also want to be able to carry out any task with it, play a game at our favorite game, and, why not, be able to get good quality photos.

This is exactly what AGM intends with the new devices it launches on the market. Not having to give up any of the current benefits and also have the best protection against shocks or damage by liquids or dust. We were able to test a few weeks ago the AGM H5 and we were able to attest that it fulfills its objective well.
But the G1S crosses the barrier of features that we could imagine finding in a smartphone. We find two details that undoubtedly differentiate them from the rest of the competitors in this range. We have laser pointer, yes a laser, and with an amazing thermal camera with professional performance.
Unboxing AGM Glory G1S

Now, as always, it's time to see everything we found inside the box of the AGM Glory G1S. They deserve special mention packaging materials from recycled cardboard for the construction of the box itself. In the first instance we have the phone, which at a glance denotes robustness for its finishes and the materials used for its construction.
We also have a small book of instructions, documentation of the Warranty of the product, the classic “skewer” to extract the card slot, the USB Type C charging cable, as well as the shipper of wall Everything necessary, although as we know it is something that other manufacturers overlook.
In addition, on this occasion we have also received, in a separate box, an desktop dock charger. A super stable charging base that perfectly holds the phone despite its high weight. We will only have to connect the charging cable from behind. Gthanks to the magnetized pins from the back of the device, we will not have to remove the waterproof cover. A very useful and comfortable accessory for this type of terminal.
The design of the AGM Glory G1S will not leave you indifferent

We look at the physical aspect of this all-terrain device, and it is clear from the first moment just that, that we are facing a resistant terminal. The phone body is completely covered in hard rubber, with extra protection in the corners so that possible falls are not a problem either.
Although, in the recent review of the Motorola defy we commented that it is a terminal considered resistant, but that it hardly seemed so. For its simple design and conventional lines. With the AGM Glory G1S we have to say just the opposite. Its design clearly it differs, intentionally, of what we understand by a “normal” smartphone. buy the AGM Glory G1S on Amazon without shipping costs.
On the front, framed in an orange line characteristic of the firm, we have a 6.53-inch diagonal IPS LCD screen. Above this stands the front speaker for calls. And we see how camera for selfies is hidden after a notch in hole format.

Striking and original rear
The rear will not go unnoticed for no one. We find a very striking photo camera module, and although for color tastes, we cannot deny that it is very original. The cameras are located in the corners, with the speakers inserted between them, and in the center of all, the thermal camera about which we will talk next.
Below this unprecedented camera module we find the fingerprint reader, which although it is located a little lower than normal, is equally comfortable, and we can also say that works really well. At the bottom we have pins for charging with the desktop dock.

On Right side are located two physical buttons and also to on/off/home, and for the volume control. En el left side we found a direct access button that we can configure to our liking, and tapa behind which is the slot for SIM and memory cards. By lower part are, behind another tight cover, the loading port with USB Type C format, and a 3.5 jack plug.

In upper part we found one, let's call it an extra, that we've never seen on a mobile phone before, and we've tried quite a few. The AGM Glory G1S features a laser pointer, something that beyond the usefulness it may have, is very striking. The AGM Glory G1S screen
AGM remains committed to equipping its rugged devices with good size screens. There are still manufacturers that continue to include 5-inch screens that currently seem dwarf, but this is not the case with this AGM Glory G1S, nor with another member of its family that we were also able to test recently, the AGM H5, which had a 6.78-inch screen. XNUMX inches.

The AGM Glory G1S is equipped with a screen size of 6.53 inches with resolution 2.340 x 1.080 Full HD with technology IPS LCD. It has a density of 359 pixels per inch and has a 20: 9 aspect ratio. We have to say that although it looks good, outdoors in full sun, brightness level falters a bit and we have had some difficulty reading the screen well.
As expected, the screen has high protection against bumps and scratches. But in addition, to avoid breakage due to pressure, it has a rubber frame, edged in the characteristic orange color of the signature that protrudes 0,3 mm above the glass so that it does not come into contact with the table, or the place where we support it upside down.
What is inside the AGM Glory G1S?
It's time to focus on what the AGM Glory G1S is capable of delivering level of performance. For this AGM has equipped this smartphone with a solvent chip and in which firms such as Nokia, Motorola, Huawei have relied or OnePlus, among others. We have the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 480.

A team octa-core 8nm clocked at 2GHz and architecture of 64 bits. Its CPU is developed with 2x Kryo 460 2 GHz + 6x Kryo 460 1.8 GHz. As we know, it is not the best or most powerful processor on the market, but we can say that accomplish any task, and that it does it in a solvent way. At last there is the rugged phone that is up to the task, buy the AGM Glory G1S and don't worry.
We have a 8GB RAM, which are complemented by a capacity of 256GB storage, which we can also expand using a Micro SD memory card. For the graphic section we have the Adreno GPU 619, which also unfolds without much problem. Definitely equipment up to what we can demand for good device performance.
The photographic section of the AGM Glory G1S
Now it's time to focus on the photographic camera of this terminal. A photographic section in which first, the plain format of the camera module, at least in terms of design, since stands out conspicuously on the back of this device. We have a photographic team with three conventional lenses and with an extra that we have never seen before in a smartphone Until now.

El main sensor arrives signed by Sony, we have the Sony IMX582 Exmor RS. A sensor type CMOS with resolution of 48 Mpx and focal aperture of 1.79. We have another sensorIn this case dedicated for night vision, which has a 20MP resolution. And a latest macro sensor with a resolution of 2 Mpx and a focal aperture of 2.4.
In the same photo camera module Dual LED flash is integrated with enough power to illuminate our night catches or for places with low lighting. Nothing to write home about, but meets its purpose up to the needs, without standing out for power.
And in the center of the repeated photography module, another of the great surprises of the AGM Glory G1S, a thermal camera. In itself, it is surprising to find this type of sensor in a smartphone, but in addition, we are talking about a thermal sensor with a resolution of 256 x 192, 160 x 120 pixels, and a high frame rate of 25 Hz, much more than any conventional camera can offer today. we will be able to detect temperatures between 20º and 150º.
Photos taken with the AGM Glory G1S
We have tested the sensors and cameras of the AGM Glory G1S. For this, as we usually do, we go abroad and make different captures. We have been able to test infrared camera and thermal camera. A couple of details on which we will not be able to make any comparison, since it is the first time that we can test them.
Without a doubt, the level of utility that the infrared lens or the thermal sensor can have, can be questionable. But we have to recognize that we really liked being able to try something really new on a smartphone for the first time, something that unfortunately does not happen often.

As usual, when we use the camera with good natural lighting, we get good results. With a 48 megapixel Sony sensor, in broad daylight, the result is optimal. Good resolution, good definition, vivid colors and clearly differentiated. Without getting fancy and going into detail, the photos, under these conditions, are really good.

We have tested the infrared night vision camera. Pointing at a completely dark wall without knowing exactly where we are focusing is quite an experience. And the way the bookshelf and objects look is amazing. When the sensor has to take a night capture, things change a lot. The LED flash does its best to illuminate the scene. But it is invited to appear noise, distortion and even pixelation, and the ugly watercolor effect.

Also it is very curious to check the temperature of objects, or people around us. We can even configure the color in which we want the temperature to be represented, and various other settings. In this photo, we can see how the cup containing hot coffee appears fully illuminated due to its high temperature.
The Glory G1S, a true off-roader
We have been able to test several devices with the commercial name of rugged phone, or rugged phone. But in practice they end up being conventional smartphones disguised with rugged looks. This is not, at all, the case of this AGM smartphone, and we can assure this based on the features it has in this regard.
Addition materials in which it is built, and the high level of detail that its design has so that the device is safe from falls or bumps, we found up to three certifications that say a lot about its high level of resistance.
The Glory G1S features IP-68 and IP69K certification. This means that will withstand immersion in water for up to thirty minutes de up to a meter and a half deep. And in addition, it is expressly designed so that its components resist no leaks even to pressurized water or steam cleaning.
And besides, it has the military-grade certification called MIL STD 810H. It is literally nothing more than a United States military standard that focuses on tailoring the environmental design and test limits of a military piece of equipment to the conditions it will survive in during its useful life. Something that says a lot about how "tough" this device will turn out.
Battery, efficiency and charging
We're used to rugged phones hitting the market with huge batteries that make charging a no-brainer. In this case, we find a load of 5.500 mAh, something that is not very surprising, but after trying it we can say that, thanks to excellent energy efficiency, they stretch wonderfully.

We have to take into account the number of extras, to call them in some way, that the AGM Glory G1S has. And with them, the possibilities that we have to consume the battery in a short period of time.
We can charge the phone at 18W if we directly use the USB Type C cable, we do not have fast charging. Just like the AGM H5, the Glory G1S has magnetized rear pins. Hence we can load it with the dock accessory without having to remove the watertight covers from the loading port. Although we must know that with the dock, charging speed drops to 10W.

Pros and Cons of the AGM Glory G1S
We can say that it is the most curious resistant smartphone that we have been able to test, due to the unexpected extras that we have been able to find. Beyond that, we are facing a phone with officially proven resistance, and with a really good performance.
