Xiaomi prepares its international jump at CES 2017

Xiaomi is one of the largest technology companies in the world. Its growth has been unstoppable and very accelerated in just a few years of life and although at present other firms such as Huawei, Oppo and Vivo advance it in market share in its natural space, China, the design of its products, its character innovative (Mi Mix) and this wise balance between high quality and low prices have given it great prestige and popularity among consumers. Nonetheless, Xiaomi is still constrained within Asian limits, with little official presence outside of China, totally null in the powerful US and European markets.

This situation could be going through its last days and it is that for the first time, the technological giant Xiaomi is going to participate in the CES in Las Vegas, the first great annual technological event of electronics products and there could present the first smartphone to be officially launched in the United States.

Since Xiaomi's birth, its products have been distributed throughout large parts of the world but always through international sellers such as Aliexpress, Gearbest, etc., or importers. Officially, the company has not yet reached Europe or the United States.

The reasons are diverse but, above all, two stand out: the possible price increase that their products could experience when the national taxes of each country are applied, which, in turn, would reduce their competitiveness, and the possible problems on certain patents to which could be faced.

Despite this, Xiaomi's intention is to expand internationally and in fact, its current Global Vice President, Hugo Barra, has stated this on different occasions.

The first target is the United States, but the company has always stated that it would not land in this country until it was sure of its success because the competition of Android smartphones there is extremely high.

Now With its presence at CES 2017 in Las Vegas, it seems like it will be a matter of months before Xiaomi launches a smartphone, and perhaps other devices as well, in the United States.. Will this also mean the announcement of its international expansion to Europe? We will have to wait until January 5 to find out.
