Which Android phones have Google's 'Circle to Search' feature?

Phones that can use Circle to Search

Google's Circle to Search feature was first introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S24 in February 2024. The feature allows you to perform visual searches by simply circling an object or text on the screen. In other words, Circle to Search performs a search on the internet without having to type or speak. Until recently, this feature was restricted to a few devices. This is about to change as new reports indicate that Circle to Search is now available on more Android phone models.

Android phones that feature Circle to Search

Since Circle to Search made its exclusive debut in the Samsung Galaxy S24, it seemed like it would take longer for this feature to reach the rest of the Android phones. But luckily, we didn't have to wait too long. The Galaxy S24 was followed by several models of devices such as the Galaxy S23, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Z Fold 5 which incorporated the feature. Little by little this functionality was extended to some Pixel devices, such as the series Pixel 7, Pixel 8 and the most recent Pixel 9, so also the Pixel Fold.

Samsung and Google were the first to adopt this technology in their smartphones. Now, other companies are starting to incorporate Circle to Search in some of their smartphone models as part of Google's plan to reach the 200 million devices with Circle to Search by the end of 2024.

The first of the announcements was made in September 2024 during the launch of the Tecno V Fold 2 which reported that this foldable device will include the visual search function. Other manufacturers, meanwhile, are already in the process of incorporating the tool. According to reliable sources such as Android specialist Mishaal Rahman, Google expects it to reach more Android models next month.

How Circle to Search works

You must hold down the home button or navigation bar, depending on the device configuration, to be able to surround any element on the screen with your finger, whether it's text, an image, or a video. Google's AI will then perform the search in the browser. The search provides information about the object without the need to switch apps or type a query.

Circle to Search also offers other functionalities such as translate texts or copy them to the clipboard.
