WhatsApp never ceases to surprise its users. It is not for nothing that it is the undisputed leader in the field of messaging, especially in Spain, where it has a user base that exceeds 35 million. The popular Meta app has gone a step further in recent days releasing a new update full of exciting new features. One of them comes with the beta version of WhatsApp, we are talking about six new emojis. While the other new features would already be landing in the official version of the app. Find out about the latest from WhatsApp in this post.
New emojis arrive on WhatsApp

The latest beta version update of WhatsApp incorporates six new emojis approved by Unicode 15.1. For these emojis to be approved by Unicode, operating system developers and manufacturers must first propose new candidate emojis. The Unicode Consortium, which is the organization that sets the standards for character encoding, then reviews and verifies that the proposed emoji designs meet their guidelines and are appropriate for inclusion.
Once the Unicode Consortium approves a set of new emojis, such as the new WhatsApp emojis, they are officially added to the Unicode standard. Subsequently, operating system manufacturers such as Android and iOS incorporate these new approved emojis in their software updates, so that they are available to end users in applications such as WhatsApp.
Among the new emojis that WhatsApp has incorporated into its beta version, we find a nodding face, a denying face, a Phoenix, a mushroom, a slice of lime and some broken chains.
Keep important messages
The new emojis are just one of the many new features that WhatsApp surprised us with this month. Very recently the Meta app has introduced lThe function called “Keep messages”. This feature is designed to protect users' privacy while allowing them to keep the messages that matter most to them.
Temporary messages, an existing feature in WhatsApp, are designed to disappear after a set period of time. However, with the “Keep messages” option, Users can choose to keep certain important messages, preventing them from being erased. If someone keeps a message you sent, you'll receive a notification, and only you, as the sender, can decide who can keep it.
search by date

Another feature that has been introduced is the ability to search messages by date. In the words of Mark Zuckerberg, this feature is “perfect for revisiting a message that made you smile or double-checking when you sent information to someone.”
To access this function you must press the calendar icon that appears in the search engine for a specific chat or group. With this new functionality you can easily navigate through your past conversations and find those special messages you want to review based on the date they occurred.
