Are you still watching…? is one of the messages that the video streaming platform shows us when several episodes of a series have been played without us having interacted with the platform at any time.
Netflix wants to expand the functionality of this feature and is testing a timer, a timer that will allow us to schedule when we want playback to stop , a feature designed for those users who go to sleep watching a series or movie on this platform.
The operation of this new functionality is as simple as clicking on the screen once to display the contextual menu and pressing the timer again. Different timers will be shown below:
- Never
- 15 minutes
- 20 minutes
- 40 minutes
- In ending the episode.
5 seconds before playback ends and the device turns off, the message "Snooze" will be displayed in the top center.
At the moment we don't know how it will work , but it is likely that pressing on it will bring up the power-off timer again so that we can set the time we want the device to turn off.
Thanks to this feature, you can avoid your phone being nearly dead or completely drained when you wake up . Currently, it's designed for adult profiles and mobile devices only; however, Netflix hasn't ruled out implementing this functionality in the browser and smart TV versions.
It's worth remembering that Netflix stores playback progress , so when we want to resume, we just have to rewind the time we set until we find the exact point where we left off.
