The new Gorilla Glass Victus will first arrive on a Samsung phone , and Corning itself promises that your phone could survive a 2-meter drop.

Just a few hours ago, the company revealed all the information regarding this screen protector, which offers great resistance to our phones. Besides the 2-meter drop resistance, it also improves scratch resistance. This is an improvement that hasn't been seen in 7 years, as the technology hasn't advanced much since 2014.

Since 2014, Corning's Gorilla Glass has not improved its resistance to coins and keys. It was from version 3 onward that resistance actually decreased over the years.

In fact, models 4 and 5 did not get the best scores in the resistance tests, leading to model 6 in which Corning stepped up its game so that the phone could withstand impacts such as drops.

But it's in the Victus model, or the one known as Victus , that Corning confirms it has improved resistance to both drops and scratches. It maintains that it has doubled the scratch resistance of Gorilla Glass 6, quadrupling that of the glass, and a phone with Victus could survive a 2-meter drop.

Samsung will be the first to introduce Victus in a phone expected to arrive in the coming months, and other brands are already working with Corning to implement it. This technology is crucial for maintaining the usability of our phones while also ensuring they can withstand accidental drops or the impact of keys slipped into our pockets with the phone inside. Corning has already worked on this technology for foldable phones.
