Google has launched a Gemini shortcut on Android devices, so that users can access the tool easily. Everything will be available from the device's lock screen so that AI is always close by. Let's see how this process will work and what implications it has.
Gemini AI integrates into Android via a button
Google wants Android users to have shortcut to Gemini AI via a button, or at least that's what has been leaked. Apparently the feature has been seen in the beta version of Android 15 QPR1 where a "circular button with a star icon" can be seen.
The star is certainly part of the Gemini AI image, which indicates that it is a shortcut to this function. The button will be located at the bottom of the lock screen. By pressing it, users will have access to Gemini, a default assistant compatible with certain Android phones.
The best thing is that you won't have to unlock your phone to use it, it will simply be visible once the device is activated. At the moment, this button is not operational and the news has been leaked by Mishaal Rahman, an expert on all things Android. In one of his posts he has left an image of what it looks like, but clarifies that "It is not known exactly what it will work for«. You can see his message below:

If all goes well with this feature it will surely be available in Android 16, Google's next mobile operating system. AI has been everything for the Mountain View team and this tool will surely be felt in this future version. What do you think about this integration of Gemini AI into the lock screen of devices?
