Today I want to present you a Android hack, something convoluted and sought after on my part, in which I am going to teach decrease the size of our videos taken with our Android terminal. We have already seen how to rotate a video so today it's time to learn something new.
With new technologies and Full HD cameras that already incorporate our Android terminals, It is common for any video that we capture with our Android, no matter how short it may be, is shot in weight and it is impossible for us to send it for example by Gmail which limits the sending of files to 30 Mb.
In the following Android trick I am going to teach you how to reduce the weight of any video taken with our Android, using the WhatsApp application so that later we can send it or share it in the way we prefer, either by gmail, Hotmail, or upload it to the cloud to storage services like Dropbox, Box or Mega.
One of the best basic video editors that exist for our Android is its own video editor built into WhatsApp, a video editor that we have for free and that is capable of cutting any video or, in the case that concerns us today, considerably reducing the size of the video so that, for example, we can send it as an email attachment to through Gmail.
I already told you that this Android trick in question was somewhat convoluted, and that is to get a video edited and reduced in size with WhatsApp, first we must select it, edit it and finally send it to someone so that we can already have a copy saved in the folder WhatsApp / Media of our Android. The question is to send the video to a relative so that in this way we can save a copy on our sdcard of the edition made with the WhatsApp editor and its considerable decrease in weight.
Logically, the person selected to send you the videos has to be a person of our full confidence, in my case I send them to my partner.
To edit any video with the WhatsApp editor, all you have to do is select it from the gallery of our Android and click on the button share to select Whatsapp.
As we see in the attached screenshot, the WhatsApp editor is capable of reducing the weight of the video without the need to trim it, this time it will downgrade the original video quality which is Full HD at a resolution of 640 x 360, that way we get reduce the 89 Mb size video from the original weight to about 3,4 Mb once our video is edited.
Then to make use of the edited video we just have to go to the folder WhatsApp / Media / Whatsapp Video / Sent.
Another option, the simplest and fastest way to share the new edited video with WhatsApp, is directly from WhatsApp in the profile of the person to whom we have sent it, click on the video file and use the share with option… .To later select the service we want, in this case Gmail.
